Expungement

Since 2005, a DUI stays on your record and counts as a prior DUI for 10 years. However, provided that you completed all of the terms of your probation successfully, and were not arrested for any other offense during the period, it is possible to have your Ventura County DUI expunged off of you record as soon as you are off of probation. The benefit to an expungement of your Ventura County DUI is that when private companies do a background check, an expunged Ventura County DUI will not turn up. The Ventura County DUI, however, will still turn up when government agencies run a background check on you.
