Credits
Most people arrested for DUI in Ventura County spend a day or two in custody at the time of arrest, depending on what time the arrest happened. You are entitled for credit for the time you have spent in custody, and it can be applied towards your Ventura County DUI cases in a couple of different ways. First, if you choose to do (or have to do) the 48 hours jail, then the time you already spent in custody is applied towards your fines and fees at a rate of about $100 per day. Second, if you have the option of doing Work Release, you can have the time you spent in custody applied towards the days of Work Release that you have to do. For example, if you were arrested at 11pm on one day, and released at 2pm the next day, then you have 2 days credit and you only have 3 days of the Work Release left to do to satisfy that portion of your Ventura County DUI penalties.
