Pay and Stay

We sometimes refer our Ventura County DUI clients (who ultimately decided to plead guilty) to jails other than the Ventura County Jail. There are facilities throughout Southern California (mostly in Los Angeles County) that have separate housing for people who are faced with the prospect of jail time but do not wish to serve it with the general population. Most of these programs are in a separate portion of a larger jail facility, and are usually called “Pay and Stay” programs. For a 48 hour sentence, the cost is usually about $300-$400, but many clients prefer this option due to the fact that you often have your own room, regular access to a TV, and better food.
