Non-Standardized FSTs
Over the years in Ventura County DUI cases, officers have used a number of different and outdated FSTs in addition to the 3 mentioned above. Unfortunately, many of the officers do not receive updated training and continue to subject suspected Ventura County DUI drivers to these same, outdated tests, despite the fact that these tests have not been found to have any correlation to whether or not someone is impaired by alcohol for purposes of driving. Examples of such outdated and non-standardized FSTs include the Finger-to-Nose test, the Rhomberg test (tilt your head back and count to 30), the hand-pat test, and other, even more ridiculous non-standardized FSTs. An experienced Ventura County DUI attorney who is P.O.S.T. certified in Field Sobriety Tests understands how to get your performance on these tests thrown out of your Ventura County DUI case.
