Court Date
Nearly every person who is arrested for a DUI in Ventura County is booked at the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department Main Jail. Among the paperwork that you will receive is a green sheet that contains the charges for which you were arrested, as well as your court date, time, and location. Depending on where you were arrested, and whether your DUI was a felony or a misdemeanor your court date will be listed as either in Room 118 at 8:15 in the Government Center located at 800 South Victoria Avenue, Ventura County, CA, 93009, or in S1 at 8:15 in the East County Government Center in Simi Valley, 3855F Alamo Street, Simi Valley, CA 93063. You must attend this court date, or a warrant for your arrest will most likely be issued.
One of the benefits to hiring David Lehr Law to defend your Ventura County DUI case is that you do not have to go to court. The significance of the fact that you do not have to go to court is that many people are already embarrassed that they have been arrested, and do not wish to walk into a court room full of people from the community and have the judge inform the entire audience of what you have been charged. Additionally, the fact that we appear in court for you means that you get to go to work or to school and go on with your daily life. Many people believe that it will look good to the judge if they show up in court, but in a Ventura County DUI, it makes no difference whatsoever to any aspect of you case. We are in court on Ventura County DUI cases every day of the week, and the judges and the prosecutors expect us to show up on behalf of our clients.
